Fiji 2025: One Wednesday, Two Wednesdays, Ah Ah Ah

After a full previous day, we decided to make our last full day in Fiji a relaxing one. We slept in a bit but still got to see and have a photo time with Adi, who has been our super sweet server at breakfast each morning. The Fijian people are known for their kindness and hospitality, and with that, Adi invited us for a home stay the next time we visit.

For the rest of the day, we held down some outdoor pillowed chairs to keep the breeze from blowing them away. We did hop in the pool for a little fun when the sun was high, even had a late lunch washed down with tropical smoothies as we watched the sun fade from view behind Denarau Island. Tammy had an added treat today, an edible straw… Seems the straws here, at least at this resort, are basically pasta in the shape of a straw. Of course, she ate it. 🙂

As the sky began to darken, the activities coordinator, with children in tow, helped the kids light the tiki lanterns along the pool area. As with other Polynesian cultures, the Fijians are very family-oriented, and it shows with how they interact with children. Awesome!!

Now let’s get to Wednesday… It’s a travel day, but we didn’t leave the resort until 5:30pm, so another day enjoying the pool and relaxing. Of course, Tammy and Alex joined in for water aerobics, looked like a blast. And we found a beach ball to play around with too, between the three of us, I think our record for volleys was 36, not too shabby. We also scored some relaxing free treats for the day, brownies and blondies. And for what it’s worth, these were the best brownies we have ever eaten, period. But as 5:30pm. came, we had to say goodbye to this Fijian paradise.

More about Wednesday though, we get not one but two Wednesdays… We will cross the international date line headed back to Los Angeles, so although we are leaving Fiji at 9:40pm 06/11, we arrive at LAX at 12:55 p.m. on 06/11, so even after a sleep on the plane, we get another Wednesday. Coming here, we lost a Friday but gained a Wednesday, I dig it.

In Los Angeles now, we are tired, but all the flying was worth it. Going to get some rest before heading home tomorrow since sleeping on a plane is not the best sleep. We did take a detour though, walked to an In-N-Out Burger down the street for a late lunch, and couldn’t resist some sweets from Randy’s Donuts, yummy!
